Work with Children
& Young People

We recently held a meeting to discuss plans for the new 'First Sunday' 9.30am service. There was a good attendance of people across the age groups with a variety of views.  The vision for the service is that we integrate our children with the congregation rather than leaving them at the back of church and that we learn to worship together. It is not a children's service, but a service which we hope will help us to use all our senses to worship God and to worship in creative ways rather than be bound to books and lots of words. I know this appeals to adults as well as children, we are surrounded by a world full of colour and sound and variety which we all enjoy.

Holy, holy, holy Lord God of Hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory!

We are seeking to reflect this in our worship. At the end of the year we shall have a proper review of this service with the congregation giving their views in the form of a questionnaire. However, I am  open to others' views and if you wish  to make any comments about the First Sunday service before then, please address them to me.

We have also launched a children's Sunday Club on the 4th Sunday of the month, which will run in the church hall at the same time as our service.  It will include some Christian teaching but the aim is to have fun too.  We hope members of the congregation will come forward to share some of their interests, hobbies, sports with the young people. More news of this in the future...............

Other Links with Children’s Work

The church is closely linked with Cringleford Church of England School, where, in addition to the Rector, it nominates two further members of the Governing Body. We also work with the children’s groups that meet in the Church Hall Centre and welcome visits from a variety of youth organisations.
