CRINGLEFORD MOTHERS’ UNION
Shirley welcomed everybody to the May meeting. We used the Mothers’ Union “Wave of Prayer”
booklet for the Norwich Diocese in our Service. We prayed for our links in the Diocese of Ibadan, Province of Nigeria, and we
particularly remembered the projects encouraging communities to generate income through poultry farming, palm oil and cassava processing.
In our Diocese we prayed for the work of the “Away From It All” scheme providing holidays for the needy.
Angela Pearce gave
a very interesting talk entitled “A chance of a lifetime”. This was from an idea by Winston Churchill and is administered by
the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust. There are 100 fellowships offered each year and Angela applied and was accepted in 1993. She travelled across America and Canada and met many interesting people. Angela encouraged other people to apply as it was a
wonderful experience.
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday 28th July at 2.30pm in the Church Hall Centre when we shall
be enjoying the music of Jerome Kern presented by Charles Parsons. Visitors welcome.
Sheila Taylor - Secretary
ST PETER'S PUDDING PARTY
was enjoyed by all, and raised £800 for church funds.
